That show will never be not funny.

Ha! Two years ago, I test drove one of my dream cars that was 10k more than I was planning to spend on a car at the time. Just guess how that played out...

I'm not even really that far away from affording one. If I traded my current car I could afford payments on a reasonably priced one, but I can't have a Corvette as my only car. If everything goes as planned I'm going to get one in another year and a half or so, but that's so far away!

Story of my life whenever I go back and do Valet parking for extra cash. That's exactly how I got my unnatural obsession with the E92 M3.
On a more cynic note: My grandpa has a C6 base model and I don't know how many years he has left (turned 85 in January). I hate talking about it, but I know the time is coming.
*Disclaimer: Its an auto but gets garaged half the year when he is in AZ.

Lol, responded to the wrong person the first time.

While I want my future Corvettes to be manuals, I wouldn't turn down an automatic one.

I test-drove this once. It broke my heart to give back the keys.

By the contrary. Know what you want. Love what you want. Desire it. It will make you work harder to get it sooner. 3 years ago I test drove a 370z, now I own one. :D
Holy balls... I love Vettes. Saw a white C7 rolling down I35 yesterday in the rain... Jaw dropping

I have a 2ish year plan for one. Buying a house next spring, then hardcore savings mode for C5 Corvette the following spring.
I'm also trying to scheme up ways to force rapid depreciation on C6s. Gotta get those early C6s down in the $15k range

Those are great pictures.
That's a horrible car though. I can understand if you don't want it anymore, and I will gladly take it from you to spare you the pain of ownership.

I'd gladly allow you to enjoy the pain of ownership for an agreed upon sum of money somewhere between what I owe on it and what I paid for it.

Buying a house is quite a plan, so props on that. I waited exactly two years after buying my house before I got my Z, so we think alike.
Scheme? Count me in. We can buy lots of C6's and sell them at slightly lower price, but drive the wheels off them. Sell, and repeat.

How does $3.50 sound?

I would! As someone who drove mostly manuals and then bought an auto for a few years. Everytime I was in it, I hated it. It was no Corvette... but still.
Although, If accept a free Corvette and trade it in that day was an option, I would.

Hmmm, that number isn't between that range.

I drove auto for 8 years before buying a manual. I don't mind them, and actually every now and then I wish I had one for a daily driver.

It's completely natural.
I'm guessing you meant this for Jake. Thanks, Kinja!

Will it be a Z06, or one with only 400 hp?

I have the opposite problem. I drove an Evo X and an elise a few weeks ago and it absolutely shattered my dreams. I actually heard glass break after I let off because I dreamed of those cars for so long. I had them in wooded back roads and everything... Not only that, but I drove them within days of driving a Ferrari. Now I'm absolutely petrified to drive any of my former/current dream cars (m3, air-cooled 911's) and am having a hard time trusting any more new long term dream cars (911 GT3 RS, Alfa 4c).

A C5, so only 350hp or so. Unless C6 prices come down or I get a really good raise.

Or both!

I guess I just don't mind. Especially in the flat Midwest. Colorado or LA I might not like it during rush hour... might. I never minded it in Omaha though and Omaha certainly had worse traffic then most of the midwest (Dallas/ Austin included)

I don't mind, but it's pointless. Having a manual isn't any more fun than an automatic at 6:30 in the morning when cruising at 50 for 7 miles. I don't want to not have a manual, but in a perfect world I would DD something electric (no transmission) and play with a manual sports car.

maybe I can steal a c5 or c6 z06 for ya. Plenty to pick from down here hahaha

I don't want a Z06, you can just steal a non Z06.

I'm not sure we have those here in Power City.

Welp, I guess I am lucky there. I have a 7 minute drive to work and on average it is some of the best 7 minutes of a given day going down Lincoln.
